Settings
Open in AI
In the settings you adjust the app and your account. They are split into six areas you select at the top as tabs: Account, Plan, Learning, Appearance, Notes and Privacy.
Layout
Section titled “Layout”- Tabs – each tab bundles one topic. You can switch at any time without losing anything.
- Changes are collected – nothing is saved immediately. At the bottom you find Save and Cancel. While something is pending the app points it out; Cancel resets everything to the last saved state.
- Management actions – the menu in the top right opens the three actions to export, import and reset.
- Version – below the heading you see which version you are using. That helps when you report a problem.
If you click elsewhere with unsaved changes, the app asks whether you want to save or discard.
Account
Section titled “Account”Profile
Section titled “Profile”Here you maintain your personal details:
- Avatar – select an image, position the crop and apply it. Via Adjust you change the crop again later, via Remove image you take it away entirely.
- Username and Email – read-only. Neither can be changed at the moment.
- First name, Last name, Birthday and School level – freely editable. You can also remove the birthday again.
Change password
Section titled “Change password”Enter your current password and the new one twice. While typing you see how strong the new password is. The button only becomes active once both entries match and the password meets the minimum requirements.
Devices and sessions
Section titled “Devices and sessions”Under Devices & sessions you see where your account is signed in and can sign out individual devices or all other sessions. How that works in detail is described in Account and sign-in.
Two-factor authentication
Section titled “Two-factor authentication”Here you turn the extra protection via authenticator app on and off. That too is described in detail in Account and sign-in.
Tutorials
Section titled “Tutorials”The Tutorials section lists the tours through the app. Each row shows the title, a short description and the status:
- Ready – you have not done the tour yet.
- Completed – you went through it.
- Skipped – you deliberately left it out.
- Updated – the tour was revised and is worth doing again.
The button restarts a tour. Some tours need a prerequisite, such as an existing folder; the app then tells you what is missing first.
The Plan area shows in a calm form what your plan includes:
- Current plan – which plan you are on.
- Adjust plan – takes you to the plan comparison.
- Cancel membership – opens subscription management. On the free plan there is nothing to cancel.
- Your limits – usage for folders, storage and AI usage, each with the remaining amount and when it renews.
- AI generation limits – how much text, how many files, how large a file and how many PDF pages one request may cover.
- Where your learning energy goes – a breakdown of the current month by feature and by answer level in the tutor chat.
While current usage is being checked, the display may briefly show last known values; the app labels that accordingly. Which plans exist and how they differ is described in Plans and limits.
Learning
Section titled “Learning”Daily learning goals
Section titled “Daily learning goals”Set how much you want to get through each day:
- Cards per day – how many cards you want to get through on an average study day.
- Time per day – how much time you realistically want to invest.
You then see your daily goal on the Dashboard and in Learning progress.
Learning chat
Section titled “Learning chat”- Show learning energy – displays the learning energy used next to the processing time after every answer.
- Size of chat content – enlarges messages, input field and controls without changing the rest of the app. You can also set this directly in the chat, via the bar below the input field.
- Width of the chat column – how much room messages may use on wide screens: narrow, standard, wide or full width.
Spaced repetition
Section titled “Spaced repetition”- New cards per day – how many untouched cards are introduced into the review schedule per day.
- Default session size – how many cards a study session covers when you do not choose your own size.
- Show interval preview – shows on the rating buttons when the card will come back depending on your rating.
What these settings mean in everyday study is explained in Spaced repetition.
Spaced repetition goals
Section titled “Spaced repetition goals”Here you set daily goals if you like working with numbers:
- Daily review goal – how many reviews you want to complete today.
- Daily new cards goal – how many new cards should be added today.
- Daily backlog goal – how many overdue cards you want to work off today.
A value of 0 switches the respective goal off. You see your goals in Learning progress.
Gamification
Section titled “Gamification”With Show achievements you decide whether achievements and progress are shown to you. If you switch it off, the rest of the app stays the same — you simply see no badges.
Appearance
Section titled “Appearance”Design
Section titled “Design”- Dark mode – switch the dark colour scheme on or off.
- UI colour style – determines the accent colour for highlights and buttons. You choose from several colours.
- Font size – small, medium or large.
- Snowfall – subtle snowfall on the dashboard. It stays off when animations are disabled.
Language and date
Section titled “Language and date”- Display language – German or English. Applies to the whole interface.
- Date format – German (
DD.MM.YYYY) or English (MM/DD/YYYY).
Animations and text-to-speech
Section titled “Animations and text-to-speech”- Animations – Default, Reduced or Off. Reduced animations are calmer, disabled animations do without them entirely. This choice also affects other areas, such as tours and effects.
- Voice for reading aloud – which voice reads answers aloud in the learning chat. The choice applies on all your devices. You only see this section if reading aloud is available in your plan.
Background
Section titled “Background”You adjust the app background:
- Default – the standard appearance.
- Colour – your own background colour, either freely chosen or from ready-made presets.
- Templates – ready-made background images.
- Image – your own image. Common image formats up to a set file size are allowed; the app rejects images that are too large.
You can remove a chosen image at any time.
Study companion
Section titled “Study companion”Here you choose your mascot and, with Put mascots to sleep, decide whether companions may appear. While asleep, all companions disappear and their features are off — calm, but without company.
The Notes area gathers everything around the note editor.
Editor behaviour
Section titled “Editor behaviour”- Autosave delay – after how many seconds a change is saved automatically. Lower values save faster, higher values are gentler on very long notes.
- Follow pen across pages – whether a stroke drawn in PDF notes may continue past a page boundary.
- Hover page switching – whether the page in the document stack becomes active automatically while the pointer rests on it.
- Open side panel by default – whether the editor starts with the side panel expanded.
Default pages and tools
Section titled “Default pages and tools”This is where you decide in advance what new notes and pages start with:
- Default page format – A3, A4 or A5.
- Default orientation – portrait or landscape.
- Default page style – blank, grid, lined or dotted.
- Default pen width, default marker width and default eraser width – the width the respective tool starts with.
Ink colours
Section titled “Ink colours”Under Ink colours you put together your own palette for pen and marker:
- You enter a colour as a hex value, either three digits (
#RGB) or six digits (#RRGGBB), or pick it straight from the colour picker. - Add colour puts it into the palette. The cross on an entry removes the colour again.
- The app rejects invalid input and colours that are already in the palette with a note. The palette holds eight colours.
Note labels
Section titled “Note labels”Under Note labels you create labels that are offered to you when tagging your notes:
- You add a label via the input field and Add label. The cross on an entry removes it again.
- The app rejects labels that are already in the list, and likewise another entry in a full list. The list holds twelve labels.
Privacy
Section titled “Privacy”The Privacy area concerns the optional features and your data.
- Learning memory – whether learning profile and learning summaries are stored and used across sessions. If you withdraw consent, no new entries are created and existing content is deleted.
- Persistent personalisation – whether the app recognises you across sessions. The core features remain available even after withdrawing.
- Versions – which version of the privacy notice and terms you accepted.
- Download data export – you receive your data as a file.
- Delete account – starts deletion bindingly once you have explicitly confirmed it.
You can delete individual chats and documents directly in the respective chat or sources area. What exactly happens is described in Privacy.
Exporting, importing and resetting settings
Section titled “Exporting, importing and resetting settings”Via the menu in the top right:
- Export settings – saves your current settings as a file. Handy if you want to back them up or move them to another device.
- Import settings – you paste the content of a previously exported file and apply it.
- Reset settings – resets the settings to their defaults. Your folders, cards and notes are not affected.
Saving and discarding
Section titled “Saving and discarding”At the bottom of the settings you always find Cancel and Save. While nothing has changed, both are inactive. After saving the app confirms success; if saving fails it tells you why and your entries are preserved.
