Files and explorer

Open in AI

The explorer collects all content of a folder in one place: your uploaded files, works created with tools and artifacts from the learning chat. You reach it from inside the folder.

At the top of the explorer you switch between three areas:

  • Sources – your uploaded files and documents.
  • Works – results you saved with a tool.
  • Artifacts – content the learning chat created. They are deleted automatically after a while unless you keep them permanently with Keep.

Simply drag files into the area or choose Upload. PDFs, Office documents, text and Markdown files as well as images are supported. You follow the progress in the upload tray, which you can collapse and expand.

Sources live in the Default space or in your own spaces, which you create via New space. You can rename and delete spaces; when you delete one, its sources move back to the default space.

You move files by drag & drop or via Move, several at once as well. Search finds sources by name, you switch between tile and list view at the top, and the storage indicator shows how much space is left.

Clicking a source opens the preview: PDFs with zoom and Fit to width, images and spreadsheets right in the window, and the arrows let you browse through the files. Open in … takes you to the learning-chat split view, the PDF canvas or a new tab; Download saves the file. The Properties show type, status, size and last change. For file types without a preview, download and a new tab remain.

Sources are the base of your learning content. In the learning chat the tutor answers questions about them, and Open in learning-chat split view lets you work right next to it. Open PDF Canvas creates a note with the document as its base, on which you can annotate every page.

You delete single sources via the menu, several at once via the selection bar – each after a short confirmation. A deleted space does not take its files with it; they end up in the default space. The storage overview shows how the used space is split between PDFs and Nuvia content.
