Notes

Open in AI

Notes are your own workspace inside a folder: transcripts, sketches and annotations for your material. They stay in the folder they were created in and can be connected to the learning chat.

Open the Notes workspace in a folder and choose New note. In the first step you pick a type, then you give it a Title. For PDF notes you also choose the PDF file – either as a local upload or from your sources. Create note takes you straight into the editor.

From the folder you can also reach your notes via Open notes and Open last note.

The notes workspace knows three types:

  • Canvas note – a free drawing surface for ideas, sketches and visual learning structure.
  • PDF note – a PDF as the base, with its own drawing layer on every document page. Ideal for annotating scripts.
  • Editor note – structured text with a formatting bar, also available as a Markdown preview.

In an editor note you write your text and format it via the bar on the side: Paragraph, Formatting, Lists, Links and media, Structure, Code block and History for undo and redo. In Fullscreen you write without distractions; Download saves the note as a Markdown file.

In the canvas you work with the Select, Pen, Marker, Eraser, Hand and Text tools. The hotkeys: 1 pen, 2 marker, 3 eraser, 4 hand, 5 text; Ctrl/Cmd + S saves right away. You set width and colour in the toolbar.

You manage your pages in the page panel: Add page, Duplicate page, Move page up, Move page down and Delete page. For each page you choose the Page style – Blank, Grid, Lined or Dotted – and the Page setup such as A4 in portrait or landscape. Zoom, Fit to page and rotating by 90° bring the view into position.

In PDF notes every document page has its own drawing layer. Import adds a PDF or an image, Export saves the current page as PNG or the whole note as a file. Read mode shows the note without the toolbar.

In the learning chat you can open an editor note next to the tutor. Select a passage and choose Discuss selection with tutor – the selection is attached to your next message. The tutor can also suggest changes to the note directly: you see the original and the suggestion and Apply it, or use Undo to restore the previous state.

In the notes workspace you search your notes via the search field – title or tags – and filter by type: All, Canvas note or Editor note. Each card shows the type, the size and the last change. Via a card’s menu you Open, Rename, Download or Delete it.

Your notes are saved automatically. The status shows Autosave pending…, Saving…, Saved or Save failed; Save now triggers saving immediately.

In the settings under Notes you set the default page format, orientation and style, plus pen, marker and eraser width, your own ink colours and the Autosave delay. For PDF notes you also control whether the page panel is open by default.
