Learning paths
Open in AI
A learning path breaks a topic into modules and learning objectives and leads you through them in order. Nuvia only lets you move on once you have proven an objective — not once you have read it.
Learning paths belong to the higher plans. If you lack access, the app tells you when you open them.
Creating a learning path
Section titled “Creating a learning path”Via Prepare learning path you describe your goal:
- What do you want to learn? – the more concrete, the better the fit.
- Your level – Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced.
- Time per session – how much time you want to invest per unit.
- Deadline – optional. With a date you later see how much time is left.
If you are unsure where to start, the What to start with? section helps. The suggestions come from your understanding or your sources and cover Close gaps, Refresh, New topic and From your material.
Creation takes a moment — the modules are derived from your material.
Reviewing the proposal
Section titled “Reviewing the proposal”Before the path starts you see the suggested modules. Since the proposal comes from your material, it is worth a look:
- You can rename, add and remove modules and learning objectives.
- You move the order with the up and down arrows. If it follows the prerequisites from your understanding map, the app tells you that basics come first — you may still change it.
- For each objective you choose the type: Facts, Concept, Procedure or Judgement.
The type is not cosmetic: it decides how you are checked. Facts and procedures are checked by question, concepts through your own explanation.
Confirm path and start gets things going.
Working in the chat
Section titled “Working in the chat”The learning path lives in the learning chat, not on a page of its own. The conversation is created on first access, and from then on your path runs inside it:
- A bar in the chat shows the current step and the progress.
- All learning paths takes you back to the list.
- If you move a path into another conversation, it continues there.
- Collapse learning progress makes the display smaller.
- I need help asks for a hint or an example — without solving an open task for you.
- Consolidate with cards creates fitting cards for the material you have already worked through. Open solutions are not given away.
The next step
Section titled “The next step”The app determines the next sensible step and offers the matching action:
| Step | Action | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-test | Ask me briefly | Nuvia checks what you can already do. |
| Practice | Start exercise | You get a practice task. |
| Explain | Start explanation | You explain the objective in your own words. |
| Review | Start review | An objective you already had is refreshed. |
| Answer pending | Show question | A question is still waiting for your answer. |
| Complete | – | Everything is solid. |
When an objective is ticked off depends on its type:
- For checkable objectives your hit rate counts — you see the progress as a percentage and the threshold from which the objective counts.
- For concepts it is: unlocked as soon as you can explain it yourself. A graded explanation of your own is the proof; reading alone does not count.
The competence map
Section titled “The competence map”The competence map shows your path as a whole: the objectives, their state and — with an accompanying learning book — the jump to Open chapter in the book. If reviews are due, it points that out.
The tutor’s proposal
Section titled “The tutor’s proposal”Sometimes Nuvia suggests a learning path on its own in the chat. You decide: Create learning path or No thanks. Nothing is created without your approval.
Starting the path and what comes after
Section titled “Starting the path and what comes after”- Continue learning resumes your learning chat with the previous history and progress.
- Review proposal opens the module review as long as the path is still a draft.
- The status sits on every path: Draft, Ready, In progress or Complete. For each path you see how many objectives of all have been mastered.
Reading a path as a book
Section titled “Reading a path as a book”You can turn a path into a learning book. Beforehand the app shows what to expect: whether all chapters would be fully taught or only refreshed — or a mix of both. An existing companion book is reused; otherwise it is created from your objectives.
Resetting progress or deleting a path
Section titled “Resetting progress or deleting a path”- Reset progress deletes all proof in this path and its open question. Your chat history is kept. You start again at the objectives.
- Delete learning path removes the path itself. What happens to your cards and notes does not depend on the path — they stay.
Limits and things to know
Section titled “Limits and things to know”- The path is not solo exam preparation. It checks understanding, not exam situations.
- The order follows the prerequisites. If you jump, a step can stay locked until the foundation is solid.
- Generations cost learning energy. Learning with content that already exists costs no new energy.
Common questions
Section titled “Common questions”Can I have several paths at once? Yes. Each path has its own progress and runs in its own conversation.
Why am I stuck? Usually a proof is missing. Check whether the current objective is already ticked off, and use I need help if the subject is the problem.
What happens if I miss the deadline? The path stays valid and shows that it is overdue. Nothing is deleted.
Can I repeat the path later? Yes — via Reset progress if you want to go through it from the start.
