Search and commands
Open in AI
The command palette is the fastest way to work in Flashcard Motion: you search your content, jump to pages and run commands without touching the mouse.
Opening the palette
Section titled “Opening the palette”Press Ctrl + K (Windows) or Cmd + K (Mac) – the palette opens above your current view. Pressing it again or Esc closes it. It is available on every page and in every folder.
What you can search
Section titled “What you can search”Your input searches everything at once and groups the hits:
- Actions – commands such as starting focus, switching the theme or creating a folder.
- Tools – the tools of the workbench.
- Flashcards, notes, tasks and events – your content, each with its folder.
- Folders and pages – for jumping straight there.
- Settings – individual sections of the settings.
Hits are also found via keywords: “todo” finds your tasks, “pdf” your sources. With no input, the palette shows example chips (for example Learning, Task, Calendar) and – if there are any – your recently used entries in their own group; below that you find actions, your folders and pages.
Running commands
Section titled “Running commands”Many entries act directly instead of just navigating:
- Start focus – with a duration (5, 15, 30 minutes, free focus or a custom one), plus pause, resume and end.
- Theme – switch between light and dark.
- Language – switch to German or English.
- Compact mode – turn on or off.
- Font size – choose Small, Medium or Large.
- Create folder and create task – including name and folder, without a detour.
Some commands ask for the necessary details in steps. You stay in the palette and confirm each choice with Enter.
Folder commands
Section titled “Folder commands”When you are inside a folder, the palette also knows the most important destinations of that folder: folder overview, start learning, flashcards, notes, create note, tasks, explorer, sources, learning chat, learning paths, books and learning audios.
